Replace Missing Teeth with Implant Dentistry in Teague, Texas
Traditionally, tooth replacement services only restored those parts of teeth visible above the gum line. Dental implant supported tooth replacement solutions repair the entire lost structure, roots and crowns, for a more naturally functioning option. If you’ve lost a single tooth or a full arch of teeth, dental implants at Gonzalez Dentistry may be the right option for you. Implant Restorations
The first step of the dental implant tooth replacement process is completed by one of our local specialists to ensure patient safety, comfort, and successful treatment. The procedure is relatively straightforward. A trusted oral surgeon will make a small incision in the gum tissue and position the dental implant post. Then, a protective covering is attached to the post to protect the healing area, and keep the gums in the ideal shape to accommodate the replacement tooth. Following this procedure, patients wait between three and six months for the implant to fuse with the gum and supportive jawbone tissues mimicking the natural root structure. Following this phase of treatment, patients return to our office where we’ll attach a dental restoration. Depending on the number and location of missing teeth, we offer a variety of tooth replacement options.
Implant-Retained Crowns & Bridges
Dental crowns and fixed bridges are two of the most frequently used restorative dentistry solutions, and the implant retained crowns and bridges offer versatile tooth replacement solutions for one or more consecutive missing teeth. A dental crown can be attached to a custom, crafted crown to replace a single tooth. Two consecutive missing teeth can typically be replaced by fusing two crowns and attaching them to a single implant post. For three or four consecutive teeth, two implants are typically needed, one at either end, to provide adequate support. In some cases of extensive tooth loss, we may be able to place a series of implant supported bridges to replace an entire arch of lost teeth.
Implant-Retained Dentures
Patients who experience extensive tooth loss may want to consider partial or full implant-retained dentures. These dental prosthetics allow us to seamlessly restore smiles to their full form and function. Like traditional partial and full dentures, the implant supported varieties are crafted using a gum colored base that is molded to fit between remaining teeth or against the gum line in cases of complete tooth loss. Replacement teeth are attached to these bases, which are then anchored into the jaw through a connection to the dental implant posts. Depending on patient preference, we offer both fixed and removable implant supported dentures.
All-on-4 Implant Dentures
As the name suggests, the All-on-4 implant supported denture procedure restores an entire row of lost teeth on just 4 dental implants posts. Unlike traditional dentures, the All-on-4 procedure takes advantage of the naturally denser bone at the front of the jaw to support the entire denture, making it possible for more patients than ever to be successful dental implant candidates. Two of the posts are placed vertically to support the front of the denture, and two posts are angled diagonally from the back of the jaw to the front to support the back of the denture.
